The Australian PMI Council, a body made up of all the local PMI Chapters in Australia, has moved to recognise the efforts of project managers and PMI members in Australia by creating the “PMI Australian Professional Awards Program”. The 2007 Awards presentation was held in Perth.

2007 Project Manager of the Year Winner |
The 2007 Project Manager of the Year is Sandeep Mathur.
Sandeep Mathur is the winner of the 2007 PMOTY award for his excellence in delivering Project Unity. This project involved integrating newly acquired businesses into a common business applications framework within Fujitsu, with key objectives being to standardise processes and procedures in the merged organisation, migration off legacy systems, and to provide a platform for continued growth of functionality as required.
The award which focuses on the Project Manager recognises Sandeep for his exceptional leadership skills in delivering this complex business transformation project. Sandeep has extensive project management qualifications and experience working with companies such as Fujitsu, Tourism Australia, IBM, Deutsche Bank, Westpac, Woolworths and Qantas. |

2007 Distinguished Contribution Award Winner |
The 2007 Distinguished Contribution Award winner is Marshall Fox.
Marshall Fox is recognized as the 2007 Distinguished Contribution winner for his continuing contribution to the project management profession. Marshall was the PMI WA Chapter’s (established 2001) founding President until 2004. During his term as President, he worked with the other Australian PMI Presidents to found the Australian PMI Council (APC). He chaired the Council for a period in its early years and was the Finance Officer until recently, and continues to be actively involved in progressing the PM community. |
