Education
Overview

The Education portfolio was established to oversee the development, promotion and delivery of professional development events in Western Australia. These events are focused on the ongoing education for those already holding the CAPM and PMP certifications as well as providing benefits to other professionals.

In alignment with the new global PMI’s strategic vision of “championing project management knowledge and skills for educational and social good”, PMIWA Education Portfolio, led by the Education Director, took the first step in establishing PMI WA Chapter Scholarship Programs. These programs center on the use of project management to improve Western Australian community by:

  • Expanding educational opportunities for future project managers through academic and work-based learning initiatives,
  • Preparing primary and secondary students for success in life by using projects to teach them critical applied skills, and
  • Helping relief and development organizations use their limited resources more efficiently and effectively by increasing their project management capacity.

The scholarship is intended to encourage students to undertake fields of study which may lead to a career specializing in project, program or portfolio management.
