EXAMINATION INFORMATION
EXAM APPLICATION AND ELIGIBILITY
The PMP Examination Application Forms , PMP eligibility criteria and other information are to be provided direct to PMI head quarters in the USA. You will need to verify that you are a practicing Project Manager and that you have a minimum number of years experience (with or without a degree).
Once your application is accepted, PMI will confirm your eligibility via the certification page on the global web site, www.pmi.org . You will receive your “Confirmation Number” and instructions on how to register for the exam locally.
Illustration of the application process below assumes that the exam candidate satisfies the credential eligibility criteria outlined in the previous section.
EXAM REGISTRATION
To register for the exam please follow the directions provided on your invitation letter. This letter is sent to you on acceptance of your application by PMI Head quarters. The directions will indicate what process you need to follow to sit the exam, what testing facilities, dates and times are available.
You must quote your PMI Confirmation Number and state where and when you want to sit the exam when provided with the available options.

EXAM CONTENT
The exam is focused on an in-depth understanding of PMI's book - PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge), a project management methodology which is recognised as an industry standard. Various excerpts from the PMBOK can be downloaded free from the PMI website. If you are a member of PMI a CD ROM of the PMBOK will be sent to you.
PMI Credential exams are based on PMBOK 4th Ed. To obtain a copy of the PMBOK 4th Ed, please contact the Certifications Director.
PURCHASE A PMBOK
Please contact the Chapter Administration to purchase the 4th edition of the PMBOK.
Cost: $75 for members and $85 for non-members.
Collection can be arranged at the next Chapter Meeting, or postage costs are $8 for 1 copy.
Payment can be made by direct deposit, cheque or credit card (Visa and Master card) Please note credit card payment incurs a 5% surcharge.
CONTINUING CERTIFICATION
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT UNITS (PDUs)
PMP Certification is granted for a period of 3 years, during which you will need to register with PMI that you have an on-going commitment to the project management profession and log up 60 Professional Development Units (PDUs).
These are usually achieved through training courses accredited by PMI or by attending Chapter Meetings and numerous other methods as outlined in the Continuing Certification Requirements handbook (CCR).
